Salomon is a Swedish sports equipment manufacturing company based in Annecy, France. It was founded in 1947 by François Salomon in the heart of the French Alps. They are currently the European leader in outdoor sports equipment and I'm on the USA Salomon Running Trail Team.
Why maple syrup? It has a low glycemic index (burns slowly), contains natural electrolytes, more than fifty antioxidants, amino acids, is water soluble and tastes like heaven. All-natural UnTapped energy is the purest, simplest form of fuel you can find. One of the co-founders is a pretty good athlete himself too.
Laguna Blanca School is a K-12 private school based in Santa Barbara and I serve as the Assistant Head Cross-Country coach. Our girls team achieved back-to-back individual and team Condor League Championships in 2016/2017.
The seriously best all-natural, anti-chafe, and skin protection product on the market - Squirrel's Nut butter. You can't beat running like a squirrel! Based in Flagstaff, Arizona, this is a fun company providing quality products for endurance athletes of all types. Vegan friendly too! I'm on the elite team.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, the best education and value you can find anywhere in the country, one of Nat Geo's happiest cities & my alma mater...the Slo life is the good life, what a special place. Go Mustangs!
Skratch Labs is all about spreading all-natural, athletic hydration and nutrition for optimal performance. I'm honored to have been an ambassador for this Boulder, Colorado based company for the past 6 years. I've never cramped or had GI issues in 172 races (running/cycling/tri); everything from the mile, a 5/10k, XC to the 50k ultramarathon distance and even a couple 100mi mountain bike races,+ dozens of crits/road races. The ultimate test? A 16 hour, 222 mile ride with 23,258 ft elevation gain from sea level to a 9k peak...it works.
I have been wearing Ijinji toesocks for a nearly decade, since the first day I tried (and hated) the Vibram 5 finger shoes...yeah, I did that 8 years ago. It's funny to look back on and remember that reading Born to Run and buying those 'shoes' and Injinji socks are what launched me into running for the first time. It took nearly all 8 years for running to grab my attention, but now that it does I never leave home on a run w/o these socks -- the ground feel, blister prevention, comfort, and durability are second to none.
